Professor Abu Bakar Munir is an internationally renowned scholar, expert and consultant on ICT Law and Data Protection Law. He was a Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Currently, he is a Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Atmajaya, Indonesia. He is also the Legal Adviser and Data Protection Consultant to the Straits Interactive Pte. Ltd., Singapore, Senior Adviser to the Schinder Law Firm, Jakarta, and a member of the Academic Advisory Council of the Asia Pacific Institute for Digital Economy, (APIDE) Tokyo.
Professor Abu Bakar is the author of several books; Privatization (1992), Cyberlaw: Privacy and Data Protection (2002), Internet Banking: Law and Practice (2004), and Information and Communication Technology Law: Personal Data Protection in Malaysia: Law and Practice (2010). Data Protection Law in Asia (2014 ) and Data Protection Law in Asia (second edition 2018).
He speaks extensively at seminars, conferences and workshops within Malaysia and around the world including those organised/hosted by universities such as the NUS, Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, etc.
Professor Abu Bakar Munir has been far and wide consulted by the governments and private entities in Malaysia and around the globe. He was appointed the Adviser to the Government of Malaysia and was instrumental in the crafting and passing of the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

She has advised and conducted reviews and audits for various business enterprises, including financial institutions. She has also reviewed and researched the privacy and personal data laws of other jurisdictions and as part of this initiative has travelled abroad to conferences in the European Union. She has presented many papers on personal data protection law and regularly conducts trainings and workshops for clients and event organizers.

Peggy is an experienced Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) lawyer specializing in data protection and privacy laws in Asia. She frequently advises her clients on their regional data privacy compliance projects in Asia and is familiar with the data protection regime across the region.
She also advises her clients on the extra-territorial scope of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and GPDR compliance. Peggy is fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese). He then went on to be trained and certified as an auditor and practitioner in the specialized area of Risk Management under the auspices of United States of America Customs and Border Protection(CTPAT Standards); and, Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA Standards), Asia.
He is specialized in providing risk management / assessment services for internal / external associates and data protection training & consultancy. He is also a trained and Certified Information & Data Security advisor. Suresh is also currently a Lecturer for Asia e University, lecturing both undergraduate and post graduate students on Risk Management module.
